Wow! What if someone you knew was not around this year for a Birthday Party? How would you feel?
As I’ve mentioned in a previous blog, I will be participating in Making Strides Against Breast Cancer in San Diego County 2012 of the American Cancer Society (ACS) as our Keller Williams San Diego Metro Team is a Flagship Sponsor of the event this year.
The reason it’s important to me is similar to every other walker of the said event. In one way or another, breast cancer has affected my life or the lives of family, friends, co-workers and people that I care about. A great family friend has been a Breast Cancer survivor for 17 years! I recently was with her father celebrating his 86th birthday. Its pretty amazing to be in such good heath at 87 but it got me to think… Wow! He also had 17 great years and COUNTING to celebrate with his daughter.
My personal goal in joining the Making Strides Against Breast Cancer in San Diego County 2012 is to lend a hand to people facing the disease have More Birthdays. I am hopeful that one day, we would all wake up to a world where breast cancer will never steal the life of an important individual.
Think about it.
The funds raised may help in:
- Prolonging the life of a mother so she could take care of her children
- A mammogram
- A ride to the doctor’s office
- A Wig… Sounds so simple huh!?… Your $100 donation will buy two wigs.
So how has Breast Cancer affected your life? What stories do you have to tell? I would be so honored if you would walk with me on October 21, 2012 (Sunday) in Making Strides Against Breast Cancer in San Diego County 2012. You can also lend your support by Donating or just by “Cheering Me On”. You can find more info about the event by visiting my ACS page.
Making Strides Against Breast Cancer in San Diego County 2012 gives ordinary people like me a chance to make an extraordinary difference to the community and even the world. That is why I’m walking… plus Don’t you want Birthday Cake?
